As with previous iterations, the Borderlands 3 skill tree will once again be making an appearance, as well as several past skills so that you can put points into diversifying your character.

Each of the Vault Hunter Classes will be able to put points into three different Skill Trees, and swap between three different Action Skills after reaching level 3.

While Amara can unlock many different Action Skills and only equip one at a time, The Vault Hunter Zane the Operative and Moze the Gunner can equip two Action Skills at a time instead of Grenades, and can augment them multiple times (Zane has two augments per skill, while Moze has one per skill. Meanwhile, FL4K’s skills allow him to unlock a different Pet in each skill tree, along with one Action Skill.

Hitman Skill Tree

  • Action Skill: SNTNL – Send into battle an automated SNTNL drone that continually flies through the environment and attacks enemies with its Machine Guns. Doubled Agent Skill Tree

  • Starting Action Skill: Digi-Clone – Spawn a Digi-Clone of Zane. This clone stays in place, but distracts and fires at enemies. Pressing LB or RB (L1/R1) while the clone is active causes Zane to swap places. Duration – 18 seconds, Cooldown – 26 sec.

Under Cover Skill Tree

  • Action Skill: Barrier – Drop a deployable Barrier that blocks incoming projectiles. Zane and his allies can shoot through the Barrier, dealing increased Gun Damage. Pressing LB or RB (L1/R1) while the Barrier is active picks up and holds the Barrier, decreasing the size and bonus effects. Duration – 9 sec, Cooldown – 18 sec, Damage Amp +20%.

FL4K has three Skill Trees: Hunter, Master, and Stalker.

Hunter Skill Tree

  • Starting Pet: Spiderant Centurion – Summoning this loyal pet will cause FL4K to constantly regenerate +1% of Max Health per sec.
  • Starting Action Skill: Rakk Attack! – Sends forth 2 Rakk to divebomb the target. The skill has multiple charges and deals 35 damage with a 18 second cooldown.

Master Skill Tree

  • Starting Pet: Guard Skag – Increases your damage by 5, Skag can vomit acid onto enemies.
  • Starting Action Skill: Gamma Burst – Create a rift at target location to teleport your pet through and deal 56 radiation damage to nearby enemies for 20 seconds with a 30 second cooldown. Will also irradiate pet, causing it to grow and size and deal radiation damage on attack. Can also be used to revive downed or dead pet, but doubles the cooldown time.

Shared Spirit 1 When at low health, a portion of all damage is shared to pet instead 50% of Damage Taken
Dominance 1 Melee Override Skill – Establishes dominance over an enemy, turning it to an ally (time is doubled if enemy is a beast), and will constantly lose health until dead Can only dominate 1 enemy at a time (for one time), which lasts 12 seconds, during which enemy loses 2% of max health per second.

Stalker Skill Tree

  • Starting Pet: Jabber Sidekick – Pet is armed with a Pistol, and increases player’s Movement Speed. Can be commanded to throw a Radiation Barrel at enemies.
  • Starting Action Skill: Fade Away – Grants cloaking, allowing you to fire 3 shots while cloaked, which are automatic +200% damage critical hits. Movement Speed is increased by +25%, and Health Regeneration by +3% of Max HP while Cloaking for 15 seconds with a 45 second cooldown.
